Carolina Souto-Jones Counselling & Psychotherapy
Who I Am
My Practice
I work with a person-centred approach, within it I pull from my years of experience in all areas of mental health. The therapeutic strategies and interventions I predominantly work with are the behaviour focused therapies of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Above all I hold the up most importance in developing a good therapeutic relationship between client and therapist, within it a emotional bond of trust, caring and respect is created, which allows for a safe space where healing can take place.
I draw on my many years of experience in helping clients gain skills and coping mechanism to help treat and resolve anxiety, addictions, PTSD, depression as well as grief and loss. I have extensive experience through my previous work as a group therapist in private clinics working with eating disorders, drug and alcohol, all mood disorders and DBT groups.
I work with individuals and couples through my private practise in Sydney's Northern's beaches. I'am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist, B.Couns through PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia)
I also offer sessions through Zoom which allows me to work with anyone anywhere in Australia or the world. Please contact me for Availability details.

The Process of Healing
The goals of Couples Therapy is to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
The Attention You Always Deserved
I believe that every single human being has a bit of healing to do. The humanistic approach has been a major influence on person-centred therapy. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy tries to identify and change negative thinking patterns and pushes for positive behavioral changes.
